Project Successes, Project Management:

  • Standing up a healthcare system’s first predictive model.

I was given the opportunity to stand up and implement a healthcare system’s first Epic predictive model in 2019, allowing for more prescriptive medicine practices systemwide. My team and I were able to:

    • deliver analysis of the current state

    • education development

    • implementation suggestion for future state

Our work provided avenues to systemwide policy changes, approvals for an increase in employee FTE, and the first virtual monitoring program.

  • Customizing and branching out with our program.

With the success of implementing Epic’s predictive models, my team was tasked with branching out to custom modeling. We placed a healthcare system’s first custom model into the clinical workflow in late 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The model itself was not a success, but this did pave the way for more custom modeling and research involvement to begin. Customers began coming to our team to improve various health system KPIs and we accepted those projects, as we were able.

  • Dipping our toes into research.

Through a re-organization, our team has been positioned closer to the growth & strategy and research departments of the healthcare system.

We are working on aligning with new consumers and getting up to speed on what’s next.

    Tasks performed:

    • virtual assistance through administrative tasks

    • project planning and templating

    • writing IRB protocols and submissions

    • assistance with gaining committee approvals

  • Daily Tasks have shifted.

Through all of the above, we remain the healthcare system’s first point of contact for many daily, weekly, etc. tasks related to data.

I have been invited to add to my workload by joining the Data Governance Committee. Here, I will be assisting with managing the healthcare system’s stand up of the metadata management program.
